Gershon Ben Keren
Gershon Ben Keren has been working in the security industry since 1990, when he first started working as door security in the North-East of England, providing security as part of a team for a number of pubs, bars, and nightclubs in the area. He has since fulfilled a number of roles within the industry, including close-protection, surveillance work and designing physical security systems etc.
He first started training in Krav Maga in Israel in 1993, and later completed and passed the 29-day IKMF’s (International Krav Maga Federation) instructor program, under Eyal Yanilov (now Krav Maga Global). He has trained with many of the original Krav Maga instructors and black belts under Imi Lichtenfeld, including Miki Assulin, Avi Moyal, and Haim Gidon etc. He has also trained with Dr Dennis Hanover and his two sons Yaron and Guy and has a 3rd Degree Black Belt in Hisardut ( a system taught to Israel’s special operation’s units/agencies). He was awarded his 5th Degree Black belt in Krav Maga in 2016. In 2010 he was inducted into the Museum of Israeli Martial Arts in Herzliya, Israel. He is also the author of three books on Krav Maga published by Tuttle Publishing.
He works as a Criminologist in Boston, Massachusetts, working in the private sector consulting with private enterprises and organizations on the risks they face and addressing their vulnerabilities from a security perspective. He has a master’s degree in criminology and criminal psychology (University of Essex) and another in Psychology (Newcastle University).
